Decoration with candles

Candles are one of the simplest decorative objects that exist and whose effect, cosy and enveloping, is most beautiful. It is very common to have candles at home, stored in a drawer, waiting to be used but sometimes we don't use them. We bring you some of them easy ideas to get more out of candles in a totally homemade and very cheap way.

Candles decorated with recycled paper. It's as easy as tying sheets of paper with string around the candle. They look great on wooden shelves or in a village house as they go perfectly with the rustic style. You can also use any other paper to play with different colours and shades if you feel like doing something more fun.

Floating candles in glass bowl. Take a glass tumbler or a large rounded glass bowl, put stones in the bottom, fill it with water and place the candle in it. You can also use different sized glasses and place them together in areas you want to illuminate. Instead of stones, you can also put branches, beach shells, flowers, dried pine cones... and combine them as you like. It is very simple and you will achieve a very relaxing effect.

Natural candles with fruits. The shape of the orange or the apple allows the candle to be held and, in the case of the orange, to spread a very pleasant smell. To place a candle in the apple, simply make a hole in the top of the apple and place the candle in it.

In the case of the orange candle, it is possible to make the candle naturally by following these steps:

1- It is necessary to cut the peel in half and remove the orange from the peel with a spoon, so that the peel is empty and the white stalk of the orange remains intact, as it will serve as a wick for the candle.

2- Submerge what will be the candle wick in oil olive oil for a few seconds.

3- Fill in the shell of oil without covering the wick, and you can light it!

4- To aromatize the candle, you can use the other shell as a lid of the shell. Note that you must make a hole in the top and sides of the peel to allow oxygen to enter. You can also use the peels simply as a holder for a candle, without using the orange stalk as a wick.

These candles allow you to recycle objects and create a special atmosphere in just a few seconds, give it a try!
