LEONESE CHRISTMAS BOUQUET

LEONESE CHRISTMAS BOUQUET

In these last days of November and early December, many of you will take the opportunity to decorate your homes.
Although the theme is the same, everyone decorates their own Christmas environment with a personal touch.
Today we want to show you a simple but at the same time original decorative element.
This is the Leonese Christmas bouquet.
It is a custom from the province of León that dates back to pre-Christian times, and although for many years it fell almost into oblivion, it has made a strong comeback, spreading throughout Spain.
Although it can be bought ready-made, it is traditionally a handmade item.
It consists of a wooden frame, usually triangular in shape, in which 12 candles symbolising the months of the year are placed.
Various offerings such as doughnuts and fruit are hung from the frame.
This frame rests on a wooden stick placed vertically on a base that acts as a support, on which other offerings such as chestnuts and walnuts are placed. Some people place the Nativity of Bethlehem or Christmas presents on the base.
Here we show you some types of Leonese Christmas bouquets for you to get some ideas...
There can be as many different ones as there are people in the world.

In Ferreterías Leonesa we can help you to make yours by providing you with the material to make it: wooden frames, mounting adhesive, ropes, candles...
Do you dare with your design?
We'd love to see it and post it on our Facebook board!
