Miquel Àngel Llaveria was one of the 18 people who took part in the first edition of the course. Chain Solidarity which took place last year in Barcelona. Last September he opened his own hardware store under the Cadena 88 banner.

This is undoubtedly a very commendable story of self-improvement. Miquel Àngel was, for 10 years, Production Manager of an important wholesale food company with its operations centre in Mercabarna (Barcelona). After these years of work with a very high level of pressure, Miquel Àngel decided to make a 180-degree turn in his life, as his health depended on it. He decided to leave the company and, after several unsuccessful attempts to re-enter the world of work, he signed up for the Solidaridad en Cadena course when he was on unemployment benefit. He successfully completed the training period and did a month's work experience at Ferretería Bricofusta in Barcelona, where he fitted in perfectly with the owners, to the point where he was hired as permanent shop staff.

Seven months after starting his work at Bricofusta and learning more about how this type of business works, Miquel Àngel found commercial premises for rent in an area close to his home and decided to set up his own hardware store.

It was clear to him, Cadena 88 had helped him to change his life and he asked the hardware chain for our help to realise his personal project.
