Chain 88 repeats for the second time its ‘Chain Solidarity‘, this time in Madrid. This second training course, which started on 27 September last, brings together 18 persons and once again with the collaboration of Obra Social La Caixa and the association Eslabón.

‘Chain Solidarity‘ is a corporate responsibility project from Ehlis which seeks to meet a dual need in the food trade sector. hardwareThe aim of the project is to train unemployed people as hardware shop assistants and to cover the demand for professional staff needed by the shops associated with Cadena 88.

For the creation of this course in Madrid, Ehlis has interviewed unemployed people with very different profiles. Most of the Cadena 88 hardware stores interested in the solidarity project are located in towns far from Madrid, so we have tried to find people from the same town or nearby to facilitate their integration into the world of work.

The training, which lasts 3 months, will end on 22 December with the integration of these 18 future shop assistants in the hardware stores associated with Cadena 88 that have shown interest in the project.

What does the course consist of?

The course consists of two months of classes with 175 hours of theoretical and practical classes, where students acquire knowledge of customer service, sales techniques, stock control, window dressing and sales techniques. retail, together with two practical sessions given by Integral Control to master your point-of-sale management programme.

On the other hand, Ehlis staff teaches product knowledge classes at its cash&carry facilities in Madrid together with demonstrations by manufacturers in the sector who also make specific presentations of their product ranges (AkzoNobel, Famatel, FAC, fischer, Henkel and StanleyBlack&Decker).

At the end of the theoretical training period, trainees begin a period of 175 hours of internships in the Cadena 88 hardware stores assigned to them, where they have the option to be hired by their owners and become part of the workforce.
