For some time now, you've probably heard on several occasions that it's time to phase out all conventional light bulbs and replace them with LEDs.
The most common doubts are often about the equivalence of light and the advantages of its characteristics. 

 First of all, you should know that these bulbs can be found in a wider range of shades.
 On the product packaging you will always find the colour temperature marked with the letter «K» (degrees Kelvin).
When the temperature is around 1,000K, it takes on a reddish hue. If the temperature rises to between 2,000 and 3,000K, it becomes yellowish in colour.
Between 4,000K, its tone is neutral white, and between 5,000 and 7,000K, it is a cool white.

Knowing this, the next question is how many watts (W) an LED bulb is equivalent to a conventional bulb.

 The packaging will also indicate the amount of lumen (lm) that the bulb has. Approximately every 100lm would be equivalent to 10W. Therefore, if we have an LED bulb with 420 lumens, its equivalence could be around the 42W of a traditional bulb. This is an approximate calculation, as it may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.

 Among the main advantages of an LED bulb over a normal bulb, we highlight the following:
 -They consume up to 8 times less than a normal light bulb. Something that we will notice mainly in the electricity bill...
 -LED bulbs have a lifespan of between 20,000 and 50,000 hours compared to 3,000 hours for a traditional bulb.
 -Its ignition is instantaneous. We will enjoy maximum luminosity from the first second of ignition.
-They emit virtually no heat, which allows for the additional energy savings needed in normal bulbs for cooling.
 -They are a monochromatic light source that does not generate ultraviolet or infrared light and are therefore not harmful to human health or to wildlife.
 -Heat loss is minimal, thus helping to protect the environment and reduce CO2 emissions.
 -They do not attract mosquitoes or other insects.
